FACE

Facial Asymmetry

Facial asymmetry is a condition where the two halves of the face are not perfectly symmetrical. This difference can be mild or more evident and can stem from genetic factors, aging, poor postural habits, trauma, or muscular and skeletal problems. Although slight asymmetry is completely normal and often imperceptible, in some cases it can become a source of aesthetic or functional discomfort (for example, interfering with chewing or facial expression).

About

How To Treat It

There are several non-surgical solutions in aesthetic medicine to rebalance the face and harmonize features:

Hyaluronic acid fillers

  • Used to correct small volumetric asymmetries in areas like cheekbones, jaw, chin, and lips.
  • Immediate and natural effect, with results lasting from 6 to 12 months.

Lipofilling (or Lipogems®)

  • Involves harvesting autologous fat (from the patient themselves) to then inject it into asymmetric areas.
  • Offers a more lasting effect compared to fillers, with improved skin quality thanks to stem cells contained in the fat.

Botox (Botulinum Toxin)

  • Indicated for asymmetries due to muscular hyperactivity (for example, a crooked smile or a lower eyelid).
  • Relaxes muscles, rebalancing facial expressions.

Threading (non-surgical lifting)

  • Positioned at strategic points to reposition tissues and correct mild disharmonies.
  • Immediate lifting effect, with results that can last up to 12-18 months.

VIVACE Needle Radiofrequency

  • Stimulates collagen production and improves facial tone and symmetry over time.
  • Indicated for slight asymmetries caused by skin laxity.
